Five Reasons to Book a Fresh 48

First off, for those that don't know what a Fresh 48 is, it's a session book during the baby's first 48 hours. It can be a session where bring the baby home to meet its siblings, or low key family pics, or just baby newborn style.

REASON 1

It's a great opportunity to get intimate, sweet photos of the siblings and the new baby.

REASON 2

Did I say it's wonderfully intimate? No need to fuss with outfits and locations. There's nothing more wonderful and beautiful than a portrait of Dad and baby.

REASON 3

Hello, cute newborn photos! This little nugget was already full of personality even at two days old. Love capturing these little smiles. Yes, it's not as long as a newborn session but you would still get a few baby photos.

REASON 4

Yes, budget! Can't afford to do a whole newborn and family session? This is a quick, low key, easy way to do it!

REASON 5

Because it's shot in the first two days, these pictures make great baby announcements! I'm all about making this easy for the mom after all the hard work she put in!

The travel bug bit me!

One of my favorite things to do is travel. I don't do it often but it is made easier since I have family in Bulgaria. These are some of my favorite shots from one of my visits there. It's beautiful and picturesque with the  Danube to the North, the Black Sea (and Turkey) to the East and mountains wherever you looked.

Any time I traveled by bus or train I could look out the window and see the mountains. Perhaps my love for them spurs from my mother's home town and where I spent a lot of my holidays at, a little town north of the capital of Sofia named Godech. Tucked away in the valley, surrounded by mountains. It's so quiet there that I miss it. I miss going to the cafe right by the river in the mornings and having some coffee.

But there's so much more to see. So much more to explore around my homeland. Some of which I'll do while there this summer. Want to head to Bulgaria for a vacation and travel? Hit me up, I'd be happy to share some of my favorite places!

Birth Story: The most beautiful moments

Early in Februrary I got a call at 5am from my wonderful friend and mom to be for a third time saying she's in labor. I rushed over, a 15 minute drive seeming to take forever. I didn't want to miss a minute.

Getting to photograph this special moment for my friend was so humbling and I was honored beyond words to witness a miracle. Seeing the beauty of a birth changes you. By no means was this my first, but it was no less amazing to see as my first time.

Moms, if you have ever debated hiring a photographer for your birth, stop debating, stop hesitating. Think of the wonderful moments you can have captured by a trusted photographer for you to think back on years later. Have photos to represent those memory and treasure them forever.

While Mom got ready and comfortable, Dad set the mood, helped her relax for the baby's arrival.

A few hours later into the morning as the  dawn light was spilling into the bathroom, things started to progress.

But it wasn't until 10am when the baby decided it was time to come out.

The first boy, and third kid for this sweet family was finally here. And boy would he be loved and spoiled by his big sisters.

Love was all around as family came to meet baby Gray.

Isn't he just adorable? Come back later and see more sweet baby photos as I show you what a Fresh 48 session looks like.
